A growing demand for bespoke managed services has seen Allen Lane develop an unrivalled and pioneering ‘all-round’ solution. Unlike other specialist providers, Allen Lane offers the full range of resourcing/skills delivery to the public sector from permanent, fixed term appointments, temporary workers, Statement of Work (SOW) delivery and managed services. We have provided a unique solution merging the best interim talent with an experienced onsite/integrated service delivery since 2011.

Our managed service track-record includes long lasting partnerships with several Government, Arms-length, Local Government and NHS organisations including delivery of annual accounts, Whole of Government Accounts, strategic finance support around major fiscal events, managing organisation-wide transformation programmes, Organisation Design, Target Operating Model delivery, IT & digital programme delivery, business case centres of excellence, business & cultural change programmes and many more individually designed discreet pieces of advisory/consultancy work.
This can also encompass ‘Statement of Works’ delivery via contingent labour frameworks or managed services via consultancy frameworks.

The benefits of the managed service include the ability to scale up or down at pace when required – avoiding often restrictive headcount controls and potentially being VAT recoverable owing to the service nature of delivery – whilst ultimately attracting the best candidates on the market.

        Ridhi Vaid

Ridhi initially joined Allen Lane to deliver talent for the Interim and Permanent IT teams before joining the growing Legal & Governance practice as a 360 Interim Recruiter in 2023.

Ridhi is from good old Streatham but moved to the states at the tender age of 15, returning in 2022 when Allen Lane came calling. Living in both the UK and US for so long makes for a pretty awkward accent. Most days she’s English and some days she’s American, depending on the weather. In her free time, she loves to travel, hike, explore new restaurants and try her hand at pottery.

        John Sergeant

        Business Director (Interim IT)

We were delighted to bring in John’s expertise and personality in 2017 to enhance our IT recruitment service offering. He had previously spent a decade at Venn Group and Keystream, where he established himself as a market-leading interim IT recruiter, and currently recruits interim IT professionals into Central Government and is the Director responsible for interim IT recruitment in Central and Local Government at Allen Lane.

John is a long-suffering Nottingham Forest fan, being far too young to remember any former glory days. He once met his namesake former BBC reporter and Strictly Come Dancing legend, John Sergeant, who point blank refused a “selfie” and moved back to Lincolnshire in 2023 with his young family.

Kieran graduated from the University of Essex with a 2.1 in Accounting and Finance, with the intention of having a high-flying corporate finance career before recruitment came calling (after a stint as a Vintage Wine Broker which we’re secretly more interested in). Since 2015, Kieran has been recruiting housing and property management professionals across the Public Sector – his remit at Allen Lane – as we challenge him with building the UK’s #1 Property Recruitment practice.

Kieran is an F1 Enthusiast, albeit his dream of being an F1 driver has not quite materialised. He is a keen traveller & explorer and has been to over 30 different countries. Not all 5 star though, he enjoys wild camping, hiking and mountain climbing.

        Lester Fernando

Business Director (Central Government & Managed Service)

Lester is a law & psychology graduate who was the first one to join Allen Lane. After a successful 6 years with Michael Page (where he was consecutively ranked in their global ‘annual Top 5 performers’) he has not looked back since his arrival in 2005. Lester is a Director within Allen Lane who has recruited in Central Government on an interim and consultancy basis for over 20 years. He also looks after the ever-growing Government Project Management practice.

Whilst at a Government function at No.11 Downing Street, Lester got lost and accidentally navigated his way into the reception of No.10 to be greeted by armed guards curious as to what he was doing there! Lester loves his cricket and once accidentally hit Courtney Walsh for 6 and he has also run out two former Test cricket captains whilst batting with them. On an Allen Lane trip, Les met his idol, Shaggy and serenaded him with “Oh Carolina”, his karaoke ‘go-to’.
