        Critical interim hires for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust

        Brief

        Allen Lane was engaged by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust to recruit 4 critical interim hires to establish a Programme Management Office that would be instrumental in the implementation of a new EPR system. These hires were for an Interim PMO team consisting of 1 PMO Director and 3 Senior Project Managers.

        Approach

        Following a meeting with the C-Suite of the NHS Trust we established the deliverables and key milestones of the programme, we refined the skill set required of each hire to firstly establish the PMO and then begin delivering the EPR implementation.

        Our successful approach leveraged not only our established and nurtured network but the strength of our relationships with the highly-skilled candidates suitable for these positions.

        The first hire was the PMO Director –  This interim was identified due to the long-standing relationship with the candidate that dated back over 7 years.  Their blend of direct and transferable skills at VSM level demonstrated during the interview process was the deciding factor when appointing the candidate.

        The next x3 interim hires followed in quick succession led by the newly appointed Programme Director.  These 3 hires were to form the solid foundation of the PMO and have ownership over a portfolio of projects.

        Result

        The candidates that were appointed consisted of an existing candidate relationship, a brand new candidate to Allen Lane and finally a former client who had recently embarked on a contracting career.  This showed the strength and depth of our network, candidate relationships and our methodologies to identify and attract the best interim talent in the market.
