The principle aim of Future Academies is for their family of academies to have high performing schools. They are a multi-academy trust (MAT) of five schools, with three “outstanding” schools and one “good” school. They are made up of two secondary schools (Pimlico Academy and Phoenix Academy)and three local primary schools (Churchill Gardens Primary Academy, Millbank Academy and Pimlico Primary). Head Office operations include a teacher training division, Future Training – The Pimlico-London SCITT.
We were retained to recruit a Chief Operating Officer who would have primary responsibility for developing and managing a set of world-class operations, in accordance with the vision and priorities of the Chief Executive and the Board, to ensure the Trust achieves excellence across all areas of the organisation and its strategic plan.
For this role, because the skill set was so niche, we decided against advertising the position. Instead we sourced candidates directly through a targeted approach, using our network an executive search techniques to good effect.
Future Academies thought that three of the candidates from our shortlist were appointable. The successful incumbent is making a fantastic impact at the Academy and loving the environment and challenge.
