        An excellent interim opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager.

        The Senior Finance Manager will support projects connected to the Research and Development division at a leading NHS organisation.

        Working closely and collaboratively with the R&D finance team and the senior management team, you will be responsible for leading organisation wide initiatives and projects which will support and facilitate the Trust in delivering in its capacity as a leading research centre. The aim will be for the research to be fully integrated into every aspect of the organisation, geared towards improving the treatment and outcomes for patients. The post holder will implement key initiatives including developing a framework for longer term strategic planning of research through forecasting, objective setting and capacity building, leading the financial aspects of large scale strategic collaborative proposals for external income and establishing a bespoke and robust post-award project management framework for efficient budget management and project teams.

        The appropriate candidate should be a qualified accountant, showing strong communication skills with staff at all levels, up to and including director level – demonstrated by the ability to explain complex financial information to a non-finance audience.  Experience of project accounting, and linking budgets and income to key milestones will be important.  You should have an extensive grounding in financial management and have developed this into business partnering, advice and support.  Ideally you will previously have had experience of working with Research & Development teams in a healthcare or university setting.
