As Head of Strategic Finance – Corporate, Assistant Chief Executive and Resources, you will be helping to rebuild the council, its finances, its governance, its culture and its services. As Head of Strategic Finance (Corporate, ACE & Resources), you will be supporting the s151 Officer and Deputy s151 Officer in the development and implementation of an effective internal and Member led scrutiny and annual challenge process for the Council’s MTFS, as well as providing budget management, planning and reporting support to directorates, meet statutory and best practice financial requirements, and promote the Council’s corporate competencies and values.
To be suitable for the role you need to be a qualified accountant (CCAB, CIMA or equivalent) or have significant proven experience of providing strategic direction and leadership in a local authority finance role. You will have experience of developing and implementing a Council’s Medium-Term Financial Strategy as well as substantial experience of successful strategic financial management, delivering finance service improvements and supporting the delivery of strategic projects and initiatives.
