Allen Lane is working in partnership with an institution looking to recruit a Governance Manager.
- Provide guidance and support to the Senior Management Team, Board of Trustees, and affiliated Committees in matters concerning governance, safeguarding, and compliance.
- Oversee, assess, and enhance documentation, policies, and procedures associated with governance, safeguarding, and compliance.
- Work in partnership with the Board Chair and Chairs of Union Subcommittees to facilitate Board Effectiveness Assessments and carry out resulting actions.
- Supervise the Union’s complaints and disciplinary process in collaboration with the Senior Management Team, ensuring that it maintains fairness, regulatory compliance, and effectiveness.
- Maintain key working relationships with the college and external stakeholders as well as be responsible for management and secretariat of senior-level meetings, providing support surrounding executive operations, extending to communications, training, and compliance.
- General education, typically equivalent to Higher/A levels.
- Demonstrated experience in professional communication at an executive level, with clear evidence of maintaining confidentiality as needed.
- Previous track record of managing and supporting executive operations related to board and senior leadership.
- Understanding of governance structures and practices in the education field.
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory compliance.
- Commitment to the principles of equity, equality, diversity, and inclusion. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to convey information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficient in IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online platforms
