        Partners Procurement Services (“PPS”) is the NHS shared procurement service, currently hosted by Whittington Health.

        PPS provides procurement services across four acute trusts in North London ICS: Moorfields Eye Hospital, North Middlesex University Hospital, Royal Free London and Whittington Health. This opportunity will be based at The Whittington Hospital but does offer hybrid working.

        As a Category Manager (band 7), you will be an integral part the clinical procurement team at PPS, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across all four PPS member NHS trusts. The clinical procurement team support the acquisition of clinical consumables and medical devices. The team manages clinical categories such as Ward Based Consumables, Sterile Intervention, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Cardio, Radiology, Endoscopy etc.

        Key responsibilities include:

        • Work towards clinical category product standardisation and supplier rationalisation across the PPS Trusts.
        • Responsible for ensuring the PPS Trust vendor catalogues are up to date regarding category products and consumables.
        • Identify and deliver savings towards the PPS Trusts’ QIPP/ CIP / CRES targets.
        • Provide advice, expertise and support to clinical stakeholders for category product selection, market testing and other related activities.
        • Undertake research and development on clinical products as required.

        To be suitable for the role you will need have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant acute hospital procurement environment. Knowledge of acute hospital sector buying and local buying procedures. You will also have a comprehensive knowledge and experience of Public Contract Regulations.
